Sunflowers look like they’re just one large single flower, but they’re actually composed of hundreds of tiny flowers!
These little flowers are called florets, and sunflowers have two different types. The central cluster are known as disc florets, they’re what form the sunflower seeds. Surrounding those are what appear to be petals, but are actually individual flowers called ray florets! 🌻
