With the festive season just around the corner I’ve put together a list of items that make fantastic gifts for people that love anything to do with plants… Or maybe you’ll find something to add to your own wish list, I know I have!
Terrariums by Tropical Glass
These low maintenance ecosystems make great gifts for someone that struggles to keep up with watering their houseplants. The kits supply everything that’s needed to get set up and create a lush scene. I have a couple and they really do stand out in a room. Have a look at all of the different styles here.

The Science of Plants Book
Easy to digest information accompanied by stunning images, an ideal book for someone that’s fascinated by plants. I have a shelf full of plant books but this has to be one of my favourites. It’s sold by several retailers but Awesome Books are currently the cheapest, take a look here.

Grow Your Own Mushrooms
Fungi are more closely related to humans than plants, but the experience of making something grow is always a joy! Even better if the recipient enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, there’s a whole bunch of culinary options available. Take a look at the variety of mushroom grow kits here.

House Plant Animals
Add extra personality to houseplants with these quirky animals that can either hang from stems or stick directly into soil. There’s a range of different choices, the chameleon and sloth are my favourites! Supplied by a range of retailers, Not On The High Street currently have the best price, get them here.

Mini Planters
You can never have too many plant pots, especially when they’re this cute! Sass & Belle have created a lovely range of little planters that are sure to make anyone smile. There’s lots of designs to choose from at Lisa Angel, browse the selection here.

Tiny Treehouses
A fun gift that’s perfect for any houseplant fanatic… and it lights up! They come flat packed and can be a little fiddly, but the overall experience is enjoyable. There’s a range of designs from temples to cabins and all with varying degrees of difficulty. I’d very much recommend going for the easier options to begin with! Take a look at all of the different designs here.

Wild Flower Seedboms
A fun little gift, throw the grenade to quickly add colour and wildlife to the garden with minimal effort… it’s also perfect for anyone that wants to try guerrilla gardening, just be sure to always avoid private property. There’s 4 to choose from – Cornflowers, flowers for birds, bees, or butterflies. Sold by the Eden Project, take your pick here.

Prism by Ome
I do love a terrarium, and that’s why a second has made it to the list. These come with a higher price tag than other items on this list, but that’s very much reflected in the craftsmanship that goes into them. Each prism is hand made so there’s no set up and each has its own unique atmosphere. The clever use of stabilised moss also means it’s zero maintenance, just sit back and admire! It comes in a range of sizes, check out the options here.

Enchanted Tree Scarf
This beautifully whimsical scarf features plants, fungi and woodland animals – A thoughtful gift for someone that loves nature. Sold by Fable England, get it here.

Plant a Tree
For that person who already has it all, donate to the National Trust’s plant a tree scheme and have a tree planted in their name, or in memory of a loved one. This eco-friendly gift will have a positive impact on the environment and provide a home to wildlife for years to come. Donations start at £5.00, for more information look here.

Thoughtful and Free
Many of us will be watching our pennies this year, gifting a cutting or two from your own house plant collection is completely free and will be really appreciated, after all, more plants can only be a good thing!
