Today’s national cactus day so I thought I’d share one of my favourites with you🌵💚
The fishbone cactus (Disocactus anguliger) has a funky zigzag shape that looks great amongst other houseplants or hanging from a shelf! It’s fairly easy to grow, just keep in mind that its care requirements are quite different to that of the average cactus. That’s because it doesn’t come from deserts like most cacti, it’s actually native to the tropical rainforests of Mexico, where it can be found growing directly on tree branches!
🌤️ Keep out of direct sunlight in a warm and humid room, a kitchen or bathroom would be ideal.
💧Allow the top 1/4 or so of soil to dry out between waterings.
❄️ Reduce watering in winter.
💚 Don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t work out, learn from mistakes and you can always give it another go!
