Prehistoric Magnolias

Prehistoric Magnolias

What do Magnolias and dinosaurs have in common? They both existed alongside one another!

Magnolias first date back to around 95 MILLION years ago. They survived the mass extinction event that saw the end to the dinosaurs and are one of the oldest flowering plants around today.

✅🪲 Magnolias evolved to encourage beetle pollination.

❌🐝 Bees didn’t even exist back then!
